Milan was our last stop in our Europe trip and we just wanted to spend our last day getting a glimpse of the city of fashion and design. In just a day, we walked through the 3rd largest Gothic cathedral in world - Duomo and roamed around the streets of fashion district where we could not really afford alot of the bougie brands. 24 hours was definitely enough to see the central area if your purpose is not to shop there.
Busting out a 2-day trip to Rome sounds crazy, but it is definitely doable. We spent our first day at the Vatican City and our second day for Imperial Rome. There was alot of walking on cobble stone streets for sure, so make sure you grab a pair of good shoes. My favorite part was definitely visiting the Vatican Museum and seeing Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling with my very own eyes.
Florence is on my top favorite European cities list for its rustic city color scheme, charming piazzas, and gelato all around. If you are looking for something leathery, Florence is definitely the place to look for that. You'll see leather stores and stands selling leather bags, wallets, and jackets. Just be smart about choosing good quality leather with a good bargained price! We were definitely surrounded by the right New Years spirit as we watched the fireworks by Ponte Vecchio bridge and hearing cheers and orchestra music all around. Although things did got a little too crazy with people smashing beer/wine bottles to the ground and jumping everywhere. Gotta remember to stay safe around these crowded holiday festivities!

We happened to run into a rainy week in Paris, but that didn't stop us from getting to places. We spent most of our first day roaming around the city, and planned our last two days for Disneyland Paris and Versailles since it's only a short train ride away. If you plan on going inside museums like the famous Lourve, book tickets early and save some extra days for it!

From Christmas street lighting to Christmas markets, Vienna is definitely one of the top places to go for winter holiday festivities. I chose to spend Christmas this year in Vienna, Austria to get a taste of the city's winter wonderland. Traveling on a Christmas holiday, there were definitely some preparations in knowing how to get to places and what places are open. So here are some thoughts!

Since time was a constraint for my last week in Europe, I used my remaining 9 days to see as many things as I can from Paris, France to Pisa, Florence, Rome, Milan in Italy. Of course 9 days is not enough to see everything, but even so, I did get to hit most of the must-see places and got a satisfying glimpse of all these charming cities that left me wanting to go back. Here's how I did it.

From museum hopping to plaza hopping, I definitely saw plenty of art and heritage culture in Madrid. Restaurants open later than usual as people start their days after good long rests. When getting off work, they would hop on over to watch a soccer game to relax. It is quite a getaway to experience this laid back culture over hustling all the time.
Even though Prague is much smaller than I thought to explore, I still loved it for the 4 days I was there. It definitely has a rich history to learn about and a diversity of tasty cuisines to try. Coming here definitely fixed my Asian food cravings since being abroad.

I've heard many wonderful things about Switzerland, the prices there is definitely not one of those things. If you read my Iceland blog post earlier than you already found me complaining about how expensive it was there. Well Switzerland beats Iceland on that with an average of $25-$30 a meal. I stayed 3 days in Zurich at an Airbnb and kept myself from going out to eat. CoOp is the way to go if you are trying to find a grocery store to make food; it is like the Netto to Denmark. Thanks to Olivia the birthday girl for giving me an excuse, I did have a cheat day and went out for Swiss cheese fondue though. There aren't any food highlights for this trip, but here are some nature highlights.
